Painting: Slemish
A new painting, of Slemish Mountain in County Antrim for Grannymar for her wondrous hosting of me on last year’s Painting Tour.

Slemish is painted on canvas, 50cm x 40cm (20in x 16in), which the eagle-eyed among you will notice is double the size of the other canvases for #paintingtour hosting. The three days of driving that Grannymar did for me last autumn were epic, heroic, and a total joy.

I started following you on Twitter recently and have found your use of social media very instructive, not to mention interesting, informative and darned funny. Briefly after 30 years in the work world trenches I left my day job to become and artist. I stress the become. I am particularly interested with your use of a bicycle as a mobile studio. Cycling is a personal and practical interest of mine too. After bouncing around your sites I have only found one picture of your Irish tour where you seem to have your Xtra cycle set up as a work table, with stool, to paint from. I have spent a bit of time searching, but I haven’t seen a specific how-to section about setting up a touring bicycle to use as a painting station. If there is such a post would you kindly direct me to it, and if not, would you consider writing something in that vane as I am sure that I am not the only one who would be interest.
